Douglas Architects is providing comprehensive planning and programming services for a mixed-use redevelopment of these contributing historic storage buildings located on San Antonio’s near west side. Working closely with VIA and HDR (engineering), Douglas Architects has explored a market-based redevelopment plan that includes a mixed-use program of office, retail, and housing.
In addition, given the property’s close proximity to the Centro Transit Center and future rail terminal, the planning will promote a transit-oriented development. Phase 1 will include the existing Scobey buildings with future phases incorporating the entire block including the Grand (Historic IGN Station).
Douglas Architects is working closely with the City to attain conceptual approval for the plan. The completed planning document and exhibits will include required due-diligence that will promote redevelopment and make the project marketable.
