U of H – Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management

The University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College is one of the nation’s leading hospitality schools. In 2015, they moved from their location at St. Phillips College to the St. Paul Square area, in downtown San Antonio.

Douglas Architects provided architectural design, interiors, FF&E selection, as well as historic renovation of the building’s exterior and the restoration and enclosure of an existing outdoor elevator. DAI also provided full contract administration and designed the signage package.

The interior’s design embraced the historic exterior, yet juxtaposes a crisp, new, modern language for the interior spaces. The highlight of the building is the student center, which was sponsored by the Marriott Family. This space was designed to provide a variety of seating options for students working in groups or alone. FF&E was procured by U of H, but all selections and specifications were selected and compiled by DAI.

The building opened in August of 2015, and DAI is working with U of H on expansion of a future floor.
